Why oral health should be a priority post-pandemic

Dental tourism is on the rise as more people than ever look to create their perfect smile on a budget – but do you know the risks of getting dental procedures done abroad?

The team here at EvoDental have over a decade of experience and specialist knowledge in what we do, which is why so many people have trusted us with regaining their dental function and smiles. Unfortunately, this includes those who have sought out dental treatments abroad, only to later find themselves in our care having corrective treatment.

So, if you’re considering getting dental treatment in Turkey, Budapest or one of the other popular dental tourism destinations, first ask yourself if you have weighed up all the risks. Today, our blog should help you to make an informed decision about dental treatments abroad, so read on to find out more.

If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that you can’t put a price on your health. The coronavirus pandemic has impacted on everyone in some way or another, whether that be financially, emotionally, or physically. But it has also had a massive impact on health services, restricting how people access and receive treatments, including oral care.

But should dental care be a priority once restrictions begin to lift? With apprehensions surrounding receiving necessary health care understandably high at the moment, we want to put both current and future patients at ease.

The team at Evo Dental have worked hard to remain open and COVID -safe during the lockdown and beyond, providing essential medical care to all our patients. So, whatever your dental concerns, we are here for you.

Why you need to be prioritising your health in 2021

The good news here of course is that as we slowly but surely come out the other end of the global pandemic, familiarity is creeping back in. Shops are reopening, dates are in the diary for when we can see and be close to family and friends once more. It’s all looking a lot brighter as we move through 2021.

But – if you’re not prioritising your oral health and wellbeing now, you may find that when the time comes to reintegrate back into society, that you’re not feeling prepared or confident enough to socialise.

So, how can we help? The team at EvoDental understand how much of a huge impact our teeth can have on our everyday life, which is why we have spent years working tirelessly on a solution that is unlike anything else on the market.

We have seen first-hand the impact that issues such as tooth loss, failing teeth or poorly fitted dentures can have. Individuals often come to us when their confidence is on the floor, and they struggle to socialise, often feeling that everything from eating and drinking to holding a conversation is a huge struggle.

The past year has been so hard for everyone, but if it has taught us anything, it’s that materialistic possessions mean nothing without our health to enjoy them. That’s why we have done all we can to offer a place of warmth, comfort and above all else – safety – for our patients during this time, and beyond.

Hesitations around returning to “normal” are, well – normal!

In March 2020, the whole of the UK stood still as we were told the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic. The seriousness of the situation and the fact that we had never dealt with a pandemic of this scale in modern times led to a full shutdown of non-essential services, including non-emergency medical and dental care.

A whole year on and we have come a very long way. Scientists have developed vaccinations to provide immunity to the virus, and we are currently working through a slow and methodical step-by-step plan to come out of the national lockdown for the third, and final time.

But – with things such as mask wearing, regular sanitisation and the 2-metre rule being widely considered a normal part of everyday living now, it’s no surprise really that many are struggling with the idea of routine health checks.

We have spent an entire year being told to only go out when it is absolutely necessary, so as restrictions ease and appointments are opening back up, it can feel a little overwhelming.

EvoDental are open and here to help!

Yes, as a medical primary care provider, we are currently open during lockdown – but we have taken every measure to ensure we offer a place of safety and comfort to all of our patients.
