What are the most common types of dental implants?

There are many types of dental implants used within implant dentistry – from single tooth implants for one lost tooth to full mouth treatments designed to replace a whole arch of missing teeth.

You can find many types of dental implants in London or full mouth treatments fitted by experts, such as EvoDental, in our purpose-built dental implant clinics across the country. But which is right for you?

Single or many single dental implants

  • Designed to replace a single missing or failing tooth, this solution comprises a single dental implant, abutment, and crown.
  • If you have a few non-adjacent missing teeth, you can choose several single dental implants to recomplete your arch.

Implant-supported bridges

  • Designed for patients with multiple missing teeth in one location in the mouth.
  • An implant-supported bridge generally uses 2 implants at either side of the gap and a prosthetic bridge to replace the missing teeth in the middle.

Implant-retained dentures

  • Thinner denture arches can be permanently secured using dental implants underneath.

All on 4 dental implants

  • Securing a replacement arch of around 10 teeth to the upper or lower jaw (or both) with 4 implants, all on 4 implants can provide a stable restoration option for some patients.
  • This treatment can also be called all on 6 dental implants – using 6 dental implants.

Clinic specific full mouth dental implants, such as EvoDental’s treatment

  • A full mouth solution, available for patients with low bone levels in the upper jaw and lower jaw, who may have been previously told they are not suitable for implants.
  • Utilising advanced implant placements into Pterygoid or Zygomatic bones offers a stable and secure alternative.
  • Offers 10-12 teeth, depending on the individual patient’s anatomy and the solution chosen.
  • Solutions tailored to individual patient’s requirements.

Unlike other providers of dental implants, London-based or otherwise, EvoDental focuses solely on providing full-arch rehabilitations for full mouth dental implants – also known as the EvoSolution™.

What are EvoDental’s full mouth dental implants?

Designed to provide a full mouth dental implant solution for patients who traditionally struggle to find implants, the EvoSolution™ uses 4-6 implants to place a fixed set of teeth in a single day.

This means instead of being given removable dentures, even patients with the most complex cases can gain a smile that looks and feels natural and performs like natural teeth.

This includes patients who have:

  • Been told that they don’t have enough healthy bone for implants
  • Lost most or even all of their natural teeth
  • Suffered from severe gum disease
  • Already undergone extensive dental work such as bridges and crowns
  • Failing teeth
